Just to mention, there is nothing wrong with implementations providing
optimized versions of portable packages.
In many cases (99%+) R6RS packages (aka a bunch of libraries) runs without
issues on many implementations.
A portable package should still be able to run on any implementation
regardless of the optimized version.
